Wings
Wings may sound simple, and they are, but being that I am from Buffalo, I felt compelled to share the recipes that I love for crispy wings. Below are both Lauri’s way for fried wings and the baked method.
Ingredients
1 dozen chicken wings
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
salt and pepper
1/2 cup Frank’s hot sauce
1/3 cup melted butter
OR
1/2 cup Anchor Bar Wing Sauce
For Lauri’s way, you’ll need another 2 cups olive oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Toss wings with the vegetable oil and salt and pepper. Lay flat on baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes for Lauri’s way or 30 minutes if you are only baking. If only baking and the wings look crispy, remove from oven and toss with either the Wing Sauce or the hot sauce and butter. Serve with blue cheese and pepperoncini.
If going for Lauri’s way, heat the 2 cups oil until 375 F. Add wings to hot oil, turning so they crisp up evenly. Once crispy, remove from oil and let oil drip off on paper towel. Then toss with the sauce.
Serve hot!
